Prospects for the development and improvement of the competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s agribusiness in the context of the EAEU

Abstract

The article discusses the prospects of development and the mechanism of ensuring competitiveness
of agribusiness (farmers) of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter EAEC). The author analyzes
the situation in the agro-industrial complex. The competitive advantages of agribusiness in Kazakhstan under
EAEU conditions have been identified, namely the competitiveness of agricultural products from the position
of innovation potential of EAEU member countries. The authors conclude that the competitiveness of domestic
agribusiness in foreign markets is not improving. In comparison with Russia and Belarus, Kazakhstan produces
significantly less agricultural products per capita.
The methodological basis of the work was made up of the provisions and regularities identified during the
study of the mechanisms of competitiveness and competitive advantages of agribusiness in Kazakhstan in the
conditions of the EAEU.
