Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the level of technological development of the industry of
Kazakhstan. The article describes a methodology for assessing the technological development of industries
based on the calculation of a composite indicator of technological development. The tables of Kazstat are used
as data, which show the annual results of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development. The
webometric method is used to determine the weights of the factors of technological development. The paper
analyzes the technological development of various branches of the manufacturing sector, identifies the most
developed and the most lagging branches in technological relations, and their distribution by regions. The main contribution to the composite technological indicator is performance. This factor is practically not inferior to
exports. Innovation also makes a significant contribution. Investment and digitalization play a much smaller
role.
