This article is devoted to the study of the role of intangible cultural heritage in the process of formation of sustainable tourism. The article analyzes various aspects of the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and tourism development, and also examines its impact on sustainable tourism practices and the environment. The results of empirical studies conducted in regions more developed in the tourism sector are also presented. The analysis of the study made it possible to determine the role of intangible cultural heritage in attracting tourists, their satisfaction and increasing the level of consumption of tourism products. The importance of measures to preserve and popularize intangible cultural heritage for the purposes of sustainable development of the tourism industry has also been studied. The final part of the article expresses an opinion on the importance of taking into account intangible cultural heritage when developing a tourism development strategy. The importance of strengthening cooperation between governmental and non-governmental organizations and local communities to protect and promote intangible cultural heritage was explored in order to create a sustainable and unique tourism product.
