The current state and problems of economic digitalization in Kazakhstan

Abstract

In this article, the authors have considered and analyzed issues concerning the current state and
problems of digitalization in Kazakhstan. It was revealed that Kazakhstan is currently in the process of forming
innovative ecosystems for building a strong and knowledge-intensive economy, improving the country’s «digital
government», etc. According to the analysis, it was revealed that in 2020 the level of companies’ innovative
activity on technological innovations in Kazakhstan increased, which indicates the positive dynamics of the
digitalization process in the country. It also assessed the costs of product and process innovations by the form
of ownership in the country and identified the main problems of digitalization in the economy, despite its active
development. As a result, today a national innovation system is being formed in Kazakhstan and innovative
entrepreneurship is gradually becoming real and often profitable.
