The purpose of this study is to identify the reasons and constraints for adopting an alternative
goods distribution model in Kazakhstan, in which logistics companies act as sales agents in the framework of
e-commerce.
The study uses qualitative methods like semi-standardized (focused) individual interviews (semi-formal
interviews) to collect data.
The alternative model of goods distribution in e-commerce is considered from Kazakhstan’s logistics
companies’ perspective considering specifics and conditions for the adaptation and functioning of this model in
the realities of Kazakhstan. The study identifies the main constraints for the diversification of logistics companies
in the field of e-commerce in Kazakhstan.
