The state of development of small and medium-sized businesses in agriculture in Kazakhstan

The article presents a study of the current state of development of small and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture in Kazakhstan. The authors conducted a more detailed comparative analysis of the dynamics and structural composition of small and medium-sized businesses by economic sectors (hereinafter referred to as SMEs), as well as by subjects in the context of the main organizational forms. On the basis of official statistical data, indicators of the volume of gross output of SMEs are given, the contribution of SMEs to the GDP of agriculture in the Republic and to the total volume of products produced by SMEs is calculated. The data on the specific weight of employment by types of economic activity of entrepreneurs and in the context of agricultural producers are calculated in more detail.
The authors note the importance of SMEs in the development of agriculture and positive trends in the growth of quantitative and production indicators, as well as a decrease in the level of employment, which directly affects the growth of incomes of the rural population. The main reasons limiting entrepreneurial activity in agriculture are still the financial deficit and high interest rates on loans.
