As a result of the peculiarities of the regional development of Kazakhstan, the diversity of production, the peculiar level of resources in different regions and the various reforms of the market economy, the regions of Kazakhstan are developing unevenly. However, it is not possible to have a common development strategy for the entire region. Each region has its own development conditions, economic and social potential. These factors should be taken into account in the development of the regional economy. The strategic plan should address only the most important thing for the adaptation and sustainable development of the region to achieve the desired state of the territory in the long term. Perspective appearance - a description of the territory in the future as a result of strategic management. This vision includes, as a rule, a number of indisputable elements - a high standard of living based on high labor productivity, employment growth, a diversified strong economy, a good quality of life. To determine the directions and priorities for the development of a particular region, a methodology for assessing regional activity is proposed, including an analysis of the current state of economic activity in the region using an algorithm of successive stages.
The results of the study can be used as a basis for strategic planning of measures to manage the economic sustainability of the region’s development.
