Food Safety of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Independence Period

Food safety of Kazakhstan is one of the main strategic objectives of the state and has an
inherent part in the social and demographic growth of the population. One of the integral tasks of food
safety is the economic and physical accessibility of high-quality food products for the entire population
and vulnerable segments of the population in particular. The article reviewed the development of the
agricultural sector over the period of independence of Kazakhstan, as agriculture is the basis for ensuring
the food security of any state. The analysis made it possible to identify how Kazakhstan was ready for
WTO accession, to identify threats that may lie in wait for the membership of our state of the WTO. The
article provides recommendations that could allow in the conditions of tough competition to retain their
positions in the domestic market and a gradual entry into the external market.
