Patent activity in Kazakhstan as a condition of the forming of digital ecosystem

Abstract

The paper analyses the dynamics of patent activity in Kazakhstan
in recent years. At the same time, the author considers inventive activity as the most important condition
for the formation of a digital ecosystem and, in general, the development of the digital economy. Using
the method of comparative analysis, an assessment of the indicators of current state of patent activity in
Kazakhstan and foreign countries is carried out. The key problems that cause negative dynamics in the
development of inventive activity in the country are identified.
At the end of the paper, the author offers some ways to solve the disclosed problems. In particulary, for
rapid creation of the digital ecosystem the author recommends to use a non-frontal approach, but a targeted
approach, which encourages the filing of patent applications in the international patent classification
sections associated with high technologies.
