The development of the agricultural sector is strategic for Kazakhstan. The food security of the country depends on the state of the agro-industrial complex. This article examines the foreign experience of state regulation of the agro-industrial complex. The classification of forms and methods of state support for agriculture in foreign countries is studied, which is considered in three directions: tariff protection of agricultural producers, internal support for the agro-industrial complex, support for the export of agricultural products. The article notes that developed countries have a complex and multifactorial system of state support for the agro-industrial complex. International regulation of agricultural support is described. Recommendations for adaptation of foreign experience of state regulation in Kazakhstan are given. Creation of wholesale food markets of a universal type or specialized for certain types of goods, which will contribute to ensuring the availability of agricultural products. The necessity of integration processes in the agro-industrial complex has been substantiated.
