The growth of environmental tension, causing the need to take into account the environmental
factor, makes the modern economy more and more dependent on environmental standards. In fact, focusing
on the international concept of sustainable development, designed to combine the opportunities for economic
growth while maintaining an environmentally friendly living environment, is one of the main conditions for
the transition of the economy of Kazakhstan to an innovative type of development. Therefore, it is important to
assess the overall environmental and economic efficiency of management in specially protected natural areas.
Any activity related to the use of natural resources in specially protected natural areas affects the environment
and the state of the ecological system as a whole.
The article summarizes the results of a study whose purpose is to develop a methodology for assessing the
overall environmental and economic effect of managing in specially protected natural areas. The object of the
study, the authors determine the overall environmental and economic effect of managing in specially protected
natural areas. The study applied the approaches and methods: systemic, territorial-evaluation, description,
efficiency theory, cost analytical assessment, a comprehensive assessment of integral and particular indicators,
private methods and techniques.
The authors generalized an algorithm for a general assessment of the ecological and economic effect of
managing in specially protected natural territories.
