Abstract

The article presents the justification of the effectiveness of the environmental audit of specially
protected natural territories as an integral part of the territorial natural and recreational systems (hereinafter
TN&RS) of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the example of conducting comprehensive studies in the Bayanaul
natural complex. At the same time, an approach is being considered to ensure the environmental efficiency of investments attracted for the development of TN&RS on the basis of an environmental audit, in combination
with an audit of the quality of technical infrastructure and recreational services in such territories, carried out
during the joint work of environmentalists and economists. As an example of an environmental assessment
of a protected natural area, the data of a study in the Bayanaul Nature Park are presented. Along with this,
the legislative framework regulating relations in the field of environmental management is analyzed for the
description of environmental audit procedures. The study was conducted in order to substantiate the need
for an environmental audit to preserve the flora and fauna of unique natural areas, as well as to ensure the
environmental efficiency of investments for the development of TN&RS.
