Prospects for the Development of Rural Tourism in the Western Kazakhstan

Abstract

Tourism has a significant effect on the economic and social development of rural areas, so the development
of the tourism industry is becoming a priority economic task of municipalities. The rural tourism development boosts
the economy of the village. The economic structure of villages is being improved, the development of industries
involved in the hospitality industry is being stimulated, those villages that were previously considered depressed
and unpromising for the development of other activities are being used in the economy. Recently, rural tourism
destinations are becoming more and more popular, and the rural tourism business registers increasing sales volume
year after year, attracting an increasing number of businessmen to this area of activity. In this work a SWOT analysis
is made, which determines the potential of the Western Kazakhstan tourism industry in the rural segment. Also the
main problem of the industry is identified and outlined ways to solve them.
