Abstract

The article examines the development of public-private partnerships in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It provides an analysis of PPP projects by industries.
The analysis has shown that the largest investments are in transport infrastructure projects. The main tasks
in this sector in Kazakhstan today are to eliminate transport deficiencies, reduce transport costs and increase
the competitiveness of Kazakh carriers. But the state apparatus is not always able to develop and implement
such projects. It is necessary to attract private capital to help the state implement investment projects to develop
transport infrastructure. Therefore, modern scientific research on the problems of a balanced policy of private
investment in traditionally socially important sectors of social and industrial infrastructure, which include
roads, is not only relevant for Kazakhstan but also highlights the structure of economic research in general.
It is noteworthy that the first PPP projects implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan were transport
infrastructure projects.
The PPP system is beneficial to the transport infrastructure projects because, within the framework of PPP,
the private partner assumes obligations for the operation of infrastructure after the completion of construction
(reconstruction). Thus, the interest of a private partner in high-quality construction is much higher than in the
case of the state order.
