Abstract

Up to the present, there is no unambiguous definition of the essence of the Economic Corridor
category and there are discussions about the completeness of the theoretical and methodological base and
methodological approaches in the feasibility of target and other issues of the Economic Corridoк development. In the opinion of the authors, constructive analysis of various countries’ experience in using the mechanisms
and tools of the «Economic Corridor» concept will make it possible to provide a definition to this effective form
of interstate integration of the liberal order.
The article analyzes the countries’ experiences, the European, the African, and the Asian models of the
Economic Corridor concept implementation in integration processes, and international experience shows that
regional cooperation and integration will play an important role in solving many economic and social problems.
In addition, this article provides certain conclusions of the authors based on the study results. To a large
extent, these conclusions are relevant to the implementation of the «Economic Corridor» concept in other regions
and countries. Projects of economic corridors in the Central Asian subregion are no exception, particularly for
the Shymkent-Tashkent-Khujand Economic Corridor (STKEC), where this approach is still at its initial stage.
