Abstract

Agriculture plays a key role in the economy of Kazakhstan ensuring food security. Under conditions of climate change and economic instability, subsidies remain the main instrument of the state support. However, the effectiveness of such a measure requires deep analysis.

This article is devoted to analysis of the impact of the state subsidies on volume of agricultural production in Kazakhstan for the period 2017–2023. The problem of the research is to identify the effectiveness of subsidizing the agro-industrial complex (AIC) in the context of changing economic and climatic factors. The relevance of such research is due to the importance of state support for increasing the sustainability and competitiveness of the agricultural sector in the country.

The research results have shown the subsidies exert a significant positive impact on agricultural production and underline the need for strengthening subsidies, improving availability of credit and implementation of modern technologies in agriculture. It is recommended to develop strategies aimed at increasing labor productivity and profitability of the agricultural sector, as well as effectiveness monitoring of government support programs.
