The impact of investment activity in the oil refining sector on the economy of Kazakhstan

Abstract

The article discusses the effects of the implementation of investment activities for the creation of production facilities for the production of oil refining products. At the stage of construction of oil refineries, there are mainly manifested indirect effects on the country's economy, as a share of Kazakhstani content.  In addition, the activity of the oil-refining sector has a multiplicative effect on the intersectoral balance in the structure of the national economy.  The authors present various performance indicators of previously conducted studies with an emphasis on multiplicative effects, with economic development in other industries interconnected with the petroleum production sector. The purpose of the study is to reveal the economic effects on the country's economy when expanding production facilities for the production of Kazakh refined products with added value. The article was prepared based on the results of the research of the scientific project №AP14871274, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
